Title : Cebu South Coastal Road Project

CEBU, Philippines - The tunnel section of the Cebu South Coastal Road Project has already been passable since March 2011.

Kajima Construction started building the P1.6 billion tunnel in 2006 in order not to destroy the historic value of the century-old public plaza.

100% of the aggregates used in the construction of this tunnel were sourced and shipped from Leyte to ensure the quality of the concrete structures. Leyte aggregates is considered the best source of aggregates in Visayas and Mindanao. CSI Aggregates Division which has a crushing plant and concession in Hindang, Leyte, supplied 100% aggregates requirements of Kajima Construction Corporation’s concrete 2 batching plant after it passed the stringent tests and inspection of the DPWH and Japanese engineers. The consultants inspected and assessed several sources of aggregates in Leyte and found out that CSI Aggregates passes the ASTM requirements and the specifications of the project and can ensure the consistency of the aggregates.

CSI RMC Division supplied the Ready Mixed Concrete together w Kajima Construction’s Batching plant during big concrete pouring to ensure continuous and monolithic pouring. CSI RMC Division also supplied the majority of Ready Mixed Concrete requirement of the Cebu South Coastal Road Project’s Elevated Viaduct or Suspension Bridge which were constructed by Taesei-Marubeni and VSL corporation.
